Mr. Mack, was hired as a welding inspector by University Nuclear Systems, Inc.(UNSI), a firm responsible for installing the heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning system at a nuclear power plant owned by the Washington Public Power Supply System. Mack was supposed to inspect(check) the work of UNSI employees and make sure it conformed to federal quality and safety standards(Rules), a task that was mandated(compulsory) by Federal regulations requiring builders of nuclear power plants to fulfill their role as independent observers of the construction process. However, Mack claimed, some UNSI employees would not give him access to areas in which work was not up to federal specifications. Mack brought the problem to his superiors. When he was unable to get them to respond to his concerns, Mack blew the whistle on the company. He met with officials of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) at his home ad disclose(informed) to them his concerns about the safety and quality control of the work of UNSI. The NRC took his allegations seriously, acted to them, and conducted a full investigation of UNSI that rectified(corrected) the problems. However, the company found out that Mack has talked to federal agents and early the following year he was fired because, the company said, he had a "mistrustful attitude towards management", although his inspection qualification/expertise is excellent and he is a good inspector. What do you thing about Mark's act, is it ethical or unethical?
