(a) Compute the real property gains tax arising from the disposal of the shophouse. (8 marks)
(b) Assuming that Mr. Saravanan gives the shophouse to his daughter on 25.5.2020 as a wedding gift and other relevant information remains unchanged. Compute the chargeable gain (if any) for the shophouse. Explain your answer with the relevant statutory provisions in the Real Property Gains Act 1976, if it differs from the answer in (a). (9 marks)
