Muntianak is a belacan seller in Melaka. Fuchun, a belacan seller from Perlis, came over to his shop one day and bought 100 crates of belacan worth RM5000. Funchun issued a cheque for the amount and took away 50 crates. He promised to come again the following week to get the other 50. When Muntianak tried to cash the cheque at the bank, he found that the cheque was dishonoured. Muntianak also heard from the news that some belacan sellers in Perlis have been declared bankrupt.
