Since Muthla is an art enthusiast she decides to enter and take a look at the paintings they are exhibiting. Inside the gallery Muthla recognises a painting from famous painter Marian Greenwood, Muthla has been a fan of Marian's work for many years, so she decides to buy the painting only if it is a real one. Muthla talks to Alexander, the owner of the gallery regarding the painting and the fact that she is interested in buying it if the painting is an original. Alexander says that in his opinion as the director of an art gallery the painting is indeed a Marian Greenwood original. Muthla is very happy to hear this and proceeds to buy the painting on the spot. Muthla payed OR 5.000.000 A few months later, Muthla's young son accidentally stains the corner of the painting. Even though the damage is minimal Muthla decides to send the painting to an expert to get it restored only to discover that the painting was in fact a copy of the original painting and not even a good one. This copy is worth no more than OR 100. Muthla realises that Alexander had not taken reasonable care in making his appraisal of the painting and he grossly overpriced it. Discuss the legal position of Muthla and Alexander. Advise Muthla on the remedies available to her, if any
