My development of Competency 1 has been a journey of growth and self-discovery. At the beginning of the MPA program, I had a basic understanding of leadership and management in the public sector. I had some experience building trust and creating a positive work culture, but I needed to gain experience leading in a political environment and inspiring and motivating employees.
