My grandma was my support while growing up. During my school years I was constantly bullied, made fun of, beat up and called a skinny fag. My grandma would share poems with me in her native language, Greek about not being swayed by the crowd's opinion but instead to take control of my life, be myself, what I know is right and not try to do just what was popular. She was an amazing cook and loved to plant flowers in her yard. Unfortunately she was killed on May 1. A lady DUI lost control and ran her over, killing her.
