My name is Xue Ran. I was born and raised in China. I have worked in the accounting field for many years. However, I decided to pursue a degree in healthcare management. After I leave the military, I want to get an undergraduate degree and work in hospital administration. I gained experience in healthcare management during the COVID-19 pandemic. My main responsibility is to take people's temperatures at the entrance to the building, conduct health inquiries, and organize the relevant forms they fill out. Through this work, I have deeply understood the importance of health and safety standards and the urgency of ensuring the health of people in public places. In this role, I have demonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills, ensuring an efficient admissions process. Additionally, I learned to quickly adapt to changing situations and effectively coordinate collaboration with medical practitioners and other staff. While this was a specific assignment, I gained the skills needed to manage a healthcare environment, including handling emergencies, complying with regulatory requirements, and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. My aim is to combine these experiences with the wider field of healthcare management to contribute to improving service quality and hygiene standards. I hope to get a deep understanding of the moral and legal issues involved in running healthcare systems from this class. Also, I want to learn how to look at compliance problems and risks in the healthcare system and get a sense of how legal and moral standards are applied across the whole system. I also hope to learn about the role of the federal and state governments in health care access and how to solve problems and make ethical decisions when practitioners face ethical challenges. Ultimately, I want to use this course to gain the healthcare management knowledge and skills that will help me better understand and deal with problems that come up in my work, which will allow me to do a better job for patients and organizations
