My opinions on management consulting are more in line with the functionalist viewpoint as I have personal experience with the good changes that consultants may bring about in a company and their ability to offer invaluable expertise. As a mechanical engineer employed by Johnson & Johnson in the surgical robots sector, I have seen firsthand how consultants' specific knowledge, creative problem-solving techniques, and outside perspective enable us to solve challenging issues and boost productivity. Their impartial analysis and recommendations have been very beneficial in simplifying processes and implementing new plans that align with our business's goals. Consultants are crucial, in my opinion, for developing best practices, filling in knowledge gaps, and supporting decision-making (Mosonyi & Gond, 2020). Although I recognize the issues raised by the critical perspective, my experience has demonstrated that the benefits consultants providein the form of their knowledge and problem-solving skillsfar outweigh any potential drawbacks, thus the functionalist view is a truer representation of the role consultants play in our firm
