My organization has no "Layout". However, we used a product layout at another job that I had in the past. This layout proved appropriate for what we needed as it was a pipe manufacturing facility where equipment was in a fixed position and corrugated pipe would be extruded on a conveyor-type system. One individual was at the end of the process to clean the pipe up and package it. The pipe would move through a series of automated machines to affect what was called for during production. Due to high demand volume, high equipment utilization, automation being used, and the product having minimal flexibility, this met the criteria for product layout design
