work effectively in the accountingg and bookkeping industry
Team Project FNSACC408 In a team of no more than three and no less than two you are to work together to complete the following assignment. You need to submit one copy for the team. One team member can sign the cover sheet on behalf of the team. Your result will be for the entire team and assessed as "competent" or "not yet competent". Imagine that you are starting your own Bookkeeping/Accounting business. It can be as small or large as you want. Give your business a name - be as creative as you like. You will need to conduct a "business name search to ensure the name you have chosen is not already in use. You need to do some research in what compliances and regulations you will need to adhere to and ethical principles that will be required for working in the industry. You will also need to create some documents that you will use as templates for the business You will need to provide information for each of the following points. You may use your textbook and the internet to research information. For the most part, you must use your own words, however there may be times where you need to include official information that will be taken directly from the textbook or the internet. When doing so, you must reference the material you used - either with the web page link or textbook page number. 1. Write an introduction about your business, similar to information that you would find about a business if you were to go on their website. You should include things like the type of business you are, the size of your business (i.e. how many staff are employed within the business), operating hours and the services that you will provide. You should also include your location, contact details, ABN number and possibly a website address this can be part of a letterhead graphic that you can create. 2. Referring to pages 79 and 80 in your textbook, and using templates from the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and/or Certified Practising Accountants, you are to provide an information gathering form for a client of your business. You will then need to create a letter of engagement that you could use for that client. (refer to textbook pages 15 & 79 and examples from the internet). 3. As a financial business you would be required to follow a Code of Practice. Provide at least 4 regulations/standards that could be on the Code of Practice for your business. You could access the Taxation Practitioners Board website to get some examples, along with referring to pares 62 & 63 of your text book. You should also include the Act/Legislations that each would come under Referring to the Tax Practitioners Board website and pages 164 - 165 of the textbook, what would be the registration requirements for your business and with professional development in mind, what associations would you need to join and why? 5. In any business, it is important to seek feedback from clients to keep abreast of how your business is going and to identify potential improvement opportunities. Create a feedback form with at least 10 tick box questions and 2 open ended questions, that you would use to seek feedback from your clients.
