Naomi is a Disability Services Team Member at Lotus Care. Every Thursday morning two clients, Trent and Helen have appointments scheduled with the resident podiatrist, and travel from their homes to come into the centre. Naomi really likes Trent, even though he has dementia, hes always cheery and is really easy to get on with. The only problem is that he is consistently late for his appointments. Helen on the other hand is difficult to deal with due to the pain she suffers resulting from her brain injury. She is very negative and always complaining. However, she is always on time.
This week both Trent and Helen are more than 15 minutes late for their appointments. Policy states that if the client is more than 10 minutes late they will lose their appointment and have to make a new one.Helens appointment is first and Naomi follows the policy and informs Helen that she will need to make another appointment, even though Helen explains her lateness was due to her bus running late. Later that morning Trent turns up late as usual.Naomi turns to Trent and says, Seeing as its you, come on then!
