The poverty rate in Kent County Delaware is 10.5%. The median income in between the years 2018-2022 in Kent County Delaware is $69,278. In addition, the per capita income is $33,191 (United States Census Bureau, 2023). The figures on the census website were surprising. For example, the median income is the income that "takes into account any outliers" (Kenton, 2023) such as age and people who are not or should not be counted as generating working income. This means that the median income for Kent County is significantly higher than the per capita income because this could include children, disabled individuals, and people of retirement age. Without this data you can determine the level of poverty by looking at the average wage offered in Kent County versus the cost of living in the area.
