Legal and Ethical Issues

The only further legal and ethical issues I could foresee (in this case ethical) still related

to the accident would be if members of the public viewed our reopening as too soon. If these

hypothetical critics aren't aware of the efforts we've made to improve safety and prevent any

further accidents, then they might allege that making a profit is a higher priority for us than the

safety of our customers. This is why it is imperative that in our reopening campaign, we strongly

emphasize the procedural changes we have made because safety really is our priority above

anything else.

An additional legal or ethical issue (this one could be both) I could foresee would be our

use of the operations department's customer tracking data to determine a target market for

directing the reopening campaign. This could possibly be seen as selective marketing or an

invasion of privacy. However, with a limited budget due to no recent revenue, we have no choice

but to use this data for launching a very strategic and precise campaign to maximize as it is the

most effective tool we have to achieve this.

To avoid any further legal or ethical issues atop those previously mentioned, we will have

to be sure to make it very clear that the discounted ticket prices offered for the reopening are a

promotional price and not the normal rate. We don't want parkgoers returning at a later date only

to find ticket prices have risen (returning to the normal rate) and feeling as though we have

engaged in a bait and switch tactic.
