In this analysis, we will be discussing the merger and acquisition between two automobile companies. First is American Automotive, Inc. (Smiths), and secondly is Barcelona Brand Auto, Inc. (BBA). This case takes place in the automotive industry. This case involves an American company that acquired a Spaniard company. It created issues due to not understanding the national and company cultures.

Although both companies are in the automobile industry, they both do different things. Smiths was a larger company that was selling standard automotive components. BBA sold customized automotive components for the luxury side of the automobile industry. BBA was owned by Luis Barros; he is an engineer and designer who enjoyed inventing and creating items. He was able to patent the world's first integrated cup holder for automobiles. In doing this, he acquired Mercedes and Jaguar as his first two customers. Smiths was founded in Michigan in 1955.

This company was in the NY Stock Exchange since 1960. Smiths specialized in standardized interiors. They were number four in this industry. They produced big basics in the automobile industry.
