Option 1: A product that I buy on a regular basis is probably an energy drink like monster or bang energy. I usually decide to stop by a gas station before I go to the gym to purchase an energy drink. I don't did this everyday but on average, I would say 3 to 4 times a week. Yes, a better alternative would just be to buy a pre workout tub or just stick to water, but I enjoy the taste of energy drinks so I choose to continue to buy it. A can of Monster or Bang typically costs around $2.50-$3.00 depending where you go but usually most stores will sell a can for about $2.75 in the middle. If prices of a can were to increase by 25%, I would stop and think about why prices are raising and how much money that would accumulate over time. Being about a dollar more, the value of the drink going up would be an inelastic demand due to the cost of a can of monster or bang being cheap. The reason is that not just me, but many people buy energy drinks. If the price raised, more people would hesitate to purchase, but ultimately like II would, would still buy the drink not thinking anything of it. Yes, the price raised, but I would still choose to buy the drink, not as much as I usually do, but maybe a less amount of times a week, but thats just me.
