You will design and addressing scheme and cable and configure a network.
Addressing: You will need to use VLSM to determine the five network addresses. You may use the 101.84.115.0 /24 network.
The LAN connected to the RTA fa0/0 interface requires 60 addresses.
The LAN connected to the RTA fa0/1 interface requires 50 addresses.
The LAN connected to the RTB fa0/0 interface requires 40 addresses.
The LAN connected to the RTB fa0/1 interface requires 20 addresses.
The serial connection between the routers requires two addresses.
Use the following to determine the addresses for the individual interfaces:
The router LAN interfaces will get the first usable address in each of their respective subnets.
The switches' SVI interfaces will get the second usable address in each of their respective subnets.
You may assign any appropriate address to the hosts. Just ensure the addresses are in the correct subnets
The S0/0/0 interface for RTA should get the first usable address and the S0/0/0 for RTB gets the second usable address in its subnet.
Cabling: You must cable the devices as such. Note that it does not matter which switch interfaces are used for the connections.
Connect SWA-1 to RTA fastethernet 0/0.
Connect SWA-2 to RTA fastethernet 0/1.
Connect SWB-1 to RTB fastethernet 0/0.
Connect SWB-2 to RTB fastethernet 0/1.
Connect two hosts to each switch. The switch interfaces for these connections do not matter.
Router Configuration:
Set the hostname to match the display name.
Configure the secret password as class. All other passwords should be cisco.
Configure the console and vty lines.
Store all passwords as encrypted text.
Configure all interfaces with the proper addresses and subnet masks.
Save to the startup configuration.
Switch Configuration:
Set the hostname to match the display name.
Configure the secret password as class. All other passwords should be cisco.
Configure the console and vty lines.
Store all passwords as encrypted text.
Configure the SVI (VLAN 1) with the proper address and subnet mask.
Configure the default gateway. Note that default gateway will be the address of the router interface the switch is connected to.
Save to the startup configuration.
Hosts: Configure each host with the proper address, subnet mask, and default gateway. Note that the default gateway of a host will be the address of the router interface connected to that hosts network.
Testing: You should be able to ping from any host to any other device.
