Need help with this assignment!

Topic: Hot Can

I have a question, I want to know what the independent variable would be in this situation.

The purpose is to build and test a device that will keep the hot water.

The dependent variable is Temperature in Celsius.

My investigative question is: How does changing the insulators affect the temperature in Celsius?

materials that I using: cotton, cork, aluminum can, fabric, and aluminum foil

Topic: Cold Can

The purpose of this is to cool hot water as fast as possible

My investigative question is: How does changing the shape of the can affect the temperature in Celsius?

I want to know what the independent variable would be in this situation. What is the independent variable in this experiment? and hypothesis!

The dependent variable is: The temperature in Celsius

Hypothesis : (if (IV affects DV). Then (list the materials you are using or what you did to the can and predict what will happen to the temperature) Because (explain the science/what we have learned about conductors)

Materials: aluminum can, hot glue sticks
