This is a BONUS puzzle. Completing this puzzle is not a required element of the course, but it will boost your puzzle grade if you do decide to complete this assignment. Choosing not to complete this puzzle will not affect your grade in any way. Make your own puzzle using 9 squares and 8 counters (four of one colour, four of another). You can draw the square on a sheet of paper and use coins or other markers for the counters. Start with your counters set up like this, leaving an empty space in the middle. Your goal, in as few moves as possible, is to exchange all of the counters on the right with the counters on the left, so that you end up like this: There are only two rules: 1. A counter can move into an adjacent empty space. 2. A counter can leapfrog over a single adjacent counter into an empty space. Once you have developed a strategy and executed it, answer the following questions in a Word doc and upload it to the Leapfrog Puzzle dropbox on the next screen. 1. What is the minimum number of moves required to exchange the four counters on the left with the four counters on the right, following the two rules? 2. How do you know you completed the switch in the fewest moves possible? Did you use inductive or deductive reasoning to solve the puzzle? Explain
