Need help with UNIX command

Replace all occurrences in the file of the word elephant by the word wombat (replacing the case variant Elephant by Wombat). Note: this can be done with a single emacs command, or perhaps two commands. Searching for each individual occurrence of elephant and manually changing it is not the way to go.
