Nicholas Smylie Sports Management 4-5-15 LACROSSE 5 P's as they relate to my vision are Product, Price,Place,Promotion and people. In the following I will further describe the product Lacrosse and all of its facets as it relates to the two goals. The price or costs of these goal will be analyzed, The location or environment in which the goals will take place will be determined. Promotion or how we will market these goals will be investigated and finally the people involved and the man power needed to accomplish said tasks will be presented. Our first goal as an organization will be to drum up money through fund raising. This will be accomplished by clearly laying out what the product is in no uncertain terms. We are selling lacrosse for youth on a competitive high school level. This should be illustrated in any marketing media as well as clearly spelled out for any public relations that takes place during the fund raising cycle. The price will be placed in clear view as outlined in donation amounts, an overall goal chart publicly displayed within the school. The total amount will be analyzed to include uniforms, equipment, coaching, transportation, event entry, field space and a general slush fund. These numbers can and will be laid out to potential single investors to help them fully understand where there money is going and that we are serious about getting this team up and running. It will also help the management of this team have a full comprehension of where money needs to be allocated and spent. Next, is place and as it relates to our goal that is where our fund raising will take place. We will undertake conventional methods of fund raising such as car wash's and donation jars. The car washes should be held in high traffic areas in the center of town where we can get good publicity within the community. Ideally donation jars can be placed in companies that are pillar stones of the community in doing so hopefully increasing donations by associating local business with the team. Individual donations will also be sought out through parents and wealthy benefactors throughout the community with sports related ties or interests. These could be local business owners, former alumni even other local teams looking to make the league more competitive. We also will apply for local grants within the community's clubs and local government to obtain funding. Promotion is a key factor in achieving our goal without getting awareness we are doomed to fail. Promotion will be done through banners and signs initially as they are affordable to obtain and can be placed anywhere. This should draw up excitement and attention to our organizational goals. Word of mouth will also play a key role, this is done through players informing students, friends, family and faculty of our goals. They are more or less the salesmen and spokesmen of our organization. Town halls can also be conducted on behalf of the coaching staff to help answer question and rally the community. This combination should prove in my opinion very successful at advancing our initiatives and help realize our dreams of becoming a successful Lacrosse organization. Our next goal will be to develop a quality team. One could argue that the 5 P's don't not apply, I would argue the opposite and prove it in the following. The product in this instance would be the players themselves, they are our commodity our collective achievement of success and ultimately will be what we sell to each other, parents, the school and public at large. Our product is our foundation on which everything will be built. Price ties in, there is a calculated price to develop our product. The accumulation of these students costs will include coaching,equipment, facility rentals, uniforms and many other unforeseen costs. Price also includes the cost of insurance and training for the players toe ensure a safe learning environment that will produce the best quality athletes possible. The place will be where we will develop our product, the school districts specifically LA Unified. It would also include surrounding schools that we wish to compete against in orange county. Lastly but not least will be the actual fields and stadiums that we will be practicing and playing on. Promotion is what we will apply to our product, we will promote the team in fund raising, later we will promote the games to the public and fellow students. We also will promote the team to local business to acquire investors. Lastly, is people which is broad in this area because we are selling Lacrosse but it is a people business. People are involved and critical at all stages of development and implementation. People involved range from school administrators, players, parents, bus drivers, parents, ticket holders, investors, referees, physicians, mangers, coaches and a slew of other people who we have yet to mention. Assuming we stick to our 5 P's as they relate to our goals of fund raising and creating a quality Lacrosse Team I feel we will create a comprehensive and objective game plan to encompass all aspects of our goal. In doing so secure a success for our organization and its participants
