No clear profile exists of terrorist group behaviour as they often emerge from divergent family backgrounds and are dispossessed of similar personal characteristics. Several general observations of the extreme group dynamics of terrorist indicate bizarre social misfits who are drawn from social classes where the illiterate, jobless and disenfranchised are suitable breeding grounds. For example, over 150 al-Qaida terrorists were considered by Pakistan ISI as coming from lower-class, poorly-educated families barely living above the poverty line in which their own children had been sold in Afghanistan as suicide bombers.
