No disagreement that unions have been a driving force with addressing discrimination on the job, wages, health care and a slew of other benefits which translates into a better quality of life for the working person. Our world is changing, technology is and will bring about a better quality of life but will threaten jobs.
Unions want to have control in how technology will change jobs instead of technology doing this to the worker.
The question is will labor unions still be relevant in 2050(or some designated future time). There are major companies (Apple, HP) that don't have unions and they hear the voices of their employees. Companies have demonstrated that they can close the gap between workers and management.
