NON-MONETARY TRANSACTIONS Green Grass Company manufactures lawnmowers. One machine used in the assembly process has been highly inefficient to operate, had significant downtime, and has required frequent repairs over the past few years. The machine was initially purchased on January 1, 2020 for $205,000, at which time it was estimated to used over the next 10 years. At the end of year 10, management estimated the machine would be sold for $35,000. On May 31, 2022 the Controller met with a supplier of a new machine that is faster, more reliable, and uses less energy. Use of this new machine would result in a significant difference in future cash flows due to substantial cost savings associated with operating efficiencies. The list price of the new machine was $120,000 & the supplier has agreed to provide a trade-in allowance of $100,000 for the old machine with an additional $20,000 to be paid in cash.
