Now lets trvr the process for three seismogramst I hree Is the minimum number or seismograms needed to triangulate the epicenter of an earthquake. Step 1: In the table below, Subtract the Pwave time from the Swave time and record vour answer in the TS'Tp column. Please show your math. Step 2: {This video might be of help httgsnj{www.goutube.comgwatch?v=SeFS-'-1thri-EA or vou might find another useful YouTube video on how to triongulote the epicenter of an earthquake }I. Take the Ter value and go to the graph on the previous page. Using the TsTp time, place a piece of scratch paper along the left side of the graph. Make tick marks on 1your paper at time D and the TS-Tp. time for that station. Slide 1,rour scratch paper along the curve until the tick marks touch the Pwave and Swave lines. Draw a vertical line down to the bottom and record the epicentral distance. Step 3: using vour epicentral distance, pick up your compass {or string and a pencil or whatever tools vou have] and go to the map on the next page. Using the scale at the bottom, spread the compass needle and pencil until the needle is on D and the pencil is on the epicentral distance. Now carefully.r pick up the compass and draw a circle around the station in question. Repeat this process for all 3 stations. The 3 circles intersect [or are close to intersecting] at the epicenter of the earthquake. Step d: To determine Tc. go back to the graph on the previous page. At the epicentral distance for each station, note where the distance intersects the P-wave line. Draw a horizontal line to the left and note the time [in seconds}. Subtract that value from the Pwave arrival time. {6 pt} Station Pwave Swave Ter {seconds} Epicentral To [time the {T5} Distance earthquake Please Show your occurred] Please show your math! 12:4D:12 12:4D:1S 12 :41] : 19
