Nutrition Recipe Project Purpose. The purpose of this project is to give you practice in altering recipes to make them healthier. Locate one recipe - it can be an old family recipe, one from a cookbook, from the Internet, or wherever. Write out the complete recipe on the second page of this packet. Determine the amount of fat (in grams) and Kcal in the ingredients, the total for the recipe and the amount per serving. To determine the amounts of fat and Kcals, you can either find an existing online nutrition label, or look up tables that contain them or "Google" the ingredients.
