Observe a mobile infant or toddler. If watching a group, choose only one child to use.

Make a map of the environment.

List the containers for children in the environment. Containers are equipment that we put children in (ie: exersaucers, high chairs, Bumbo seats, bouncers, etc.)

Draw the path that the mobile child takes for 20 minutes.

Using symbols, note when the child picks up an object and when the child puts down an object. Also, note when the child interacts with adults and when the child interacts with other children.
