Often when people think of new technology companies and/or innovations, they tend to think of these entities as stemming from a novel inventionthe creation of an entirely new product or service. Yet, I would submit to you that many valuable companies have formed based on changes to existing business models with relatively little "product invention" required (e.g., Amazon, Netflix, Uber, Airbnb, etc.).

To what degree do you believe changes to HIT business models might help to build value for both vendors and providers?

Can you think of any examples (past, present, or potential) for disruptive business models in HIT?
