Ok I need help on creating an estimated budget. My project that I am doing is a pillow. All I want is to see what a sample estimated budget should look like. I know I'm going to need to buy cloth, thread, needles, stuffing. I just want to see one put together. Please price out what you think these items may cost and use excel spreadsheet so I can get a general idea what the estimated budget should look like. Thanks! Our study of managerial accounting includes discussions of cost behavior, relevant costs, cost accumulation using job order costing and budgeting. The purpose of this project is to provide you with a hands-on opportunity to apply the concepts learned in a practical way. The project will culminate in a 5 minute PowerPoint presentation. The timing of the presentations will be discussed in class.

Project Criteria 1. The project must be original.

2. You must contribute a minimum of 5 labor hours to the planning, buying, and creation.

3. Total Material cost must equal or exceed $10. Materials maybe in the form of a kit, but you must cost out the individual material components for comparison purposes.

4. You may use sub-contract labor. You must track these hours and assign a going rate cost.

5. NO FOOD without special permission.

6. You must create a balanced budget or a budget showing a profit BEFORE beginning the project.

7. A computerized information system (Excel) must record labor hours, raw material and overhead costs, provide a budget comparison, and document the determination of selling price.

Extra credit will be awarded to paperless project information systems that include original invoices. These will need to be scanned and uploaded to the dropbox with your presentation.
