Olivia, Zarifah and Nurain are active partners in a firm selling electrical appliances. In December 2019 Nurain retired from the firm and sent out notices of her retirement to all their regular clients. She also put an advertisment in the local newspapers about her retirement.

The remaining partners continued the business under the same firm name. In January 2020, the firm got a RM40,000 loan from their regular bank. When the firm failed to pay back the money, the bank sued the firm together with Nurain.

Is Nurain also liable for the debt?
