On 1 April 2023, Milly Ltd sold 5 000 meters of damask fabric to Zoey Ltd, a company based in the Port St. Johns area in the Eastern Cape. Zoey Ltd paid the full invoice amount of R600 000 to Milly Ltd on 1 May 2023. Due to the flooding in Port St. Johns and the collapse of bridges in the area, movement and access in Port St. Johns is limited. Zoey Ltd had to evacuate its premises and warehouse which were badly damaged by the floods. Zoey Ltd requested that Milly Ltd keep the fabric at its warehouse until repairs to their warehouse take place. Zoey Ltd agreed to insure the fabric whilst it was kept at Milly Ltds warehouse. In addition, Zoey Ltd accepted legal title of the fabric on 1 May 2023, the date on which the fabric was ready for shipment to Zoey Ltd. As at 30 June 2023, the premises and warehouse of Zoey Ltd were still not operational and remained closed.
