On 1 January 2022, the government passed a new law, through a Statutory Instrument, that required all universities to provide mandatory training to their students on consent and sexual harassment. The law also provided for fines and sanctions for universities that failed to comply. Atlantis University, a large university with over 20,000 students, was found to have failed to provide adequate training on consent and sexual harassment and was subsequently fined by the government. Atlantis University now seeks to challenge the validity of the law by judicial review.
