On February 28, 2019, Oregon became the first state to legislate a statewide rent control law.

Leading up to the initiative,a statewide survey of Oregon residents (N=517), generated the following distribution of responses to a generic question of the following type: Would you support or oppose a change to Oregon's laws that would allow . . . rent control policies?
