On the same occasion that he agrees to purchase the radio at Julian$$s shop, Nigel, who is also a social acquaintance of Julian, also offers to buy a vintage Bugatti touring car which is one of an extensive collection of cars which Julian has compiled as an amateur car enthusiast. Nigel tells Julian that he wishes to drive the Bugatti on his holiday tour across Europe. Julian agrees to sell the car to Nigel for $9,500.$ Unfortunately, the Bugatti breaks down as it is being driven off the ferry and is found to be in a condition which is beyond repair.
