Once again, refer to the Turnover Report from Week 4. For this assignment, an EEO-1 tab has been added, showing both the gender and ethnicity of those employees who have left the organization. Then, answer the following questions:

  • What is Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and why is it important to organizations?
  • Based on the data provided, what concerns do you have from a Workplace Diversity perspective?
  • What other data would need to be gathered to determine if there were any potential issues with diversity for this organization?

What is Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and why is it important to organizations?

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is important to every company because they ensure that every employee within the company is respected and valued regardless of their race or background (Wilmington College, 2015).They also create diverse training programs, make sure work environments are safe for everyone and are trusted to bring creativity and compassion to the department (How to Become a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist, 2022).

Based on the data provided, what concerns do you have from a Workplace Diversity perspective?

Looking at this data which is limited shows anyone in a pay grade of 10 or higher is a minority. While I think this is great personally the company may need to make sure all races/sexes are paid an appropriate wage. In this data of these higher-grade employees are female.

The data also shows that men quitting is on a lower grade pay.

Another concern I see is that there are only four different ethnicities represented here.

What other data would need to be gathered to determine if there were any potential issues with diversity for this organization?

We would need data on each department to see the pay grades, genders, and ethnicities on a whole not just who is leaving. It is essential to know who is leaving and why, but we cannot come to any conclusions without all information. Looking at the department to compare pay grades will also help know if there are any inequity issues.
