One evening after drinking heavily, Al decided to rob Vince at his home because he had heard Vince had some gold jewelry he inherited. Al went to Vince's house in the middle of the night. Al took a small handgun with him. At Vince's house, Al pounded on the door. Vince did not answer, so he kicked in the door and entered to see Vince half asleep on the floor of the living room in some blankets. Al kicked Vince and told him to get the gold or he would be sorry. Vince said he did not have any. Al began yelling at Vince "Where is it?" Al held a gun on Vince and rummaged through Vince's belongings. Al found three gold rings on the fireplace mantle and put them into his pocket. At that point Vince's girlfriend Jen emerged from the bathroom and Al aimed the gun at her and said, "Where's the gold?" Jen screamed and Al put his hand over her mouth. Al grabbed Jen and rolled her up tight in a blanket, tied a shirt around her, stuffed a rag in her mouth and took her outside and threw her into the trunk of his car
