One of our best customers, Drews Drinks, is undergoing financial hardship and is unable to cover the full cost of their outstanding invoices. They currently owe $13,400 and the oldest invoice is 60 days past due. Our sodas are their best sellers and the owner, Drew would like to know if there is a way for him to set up an arrangement to pay his outstanding invoices and plus 2-months of inventory estimated at $6,500. Drew estimates it will take him 4 months to get current on his account. Company policy states we should not place new orders for customers who have invoices that are outstanding for more than 45 days. What would be the best course of action in this case, to retain Drews Drinks as a customer? Refer Drew to a competitor. Drew can set up a note receivable and this would require him to pay interests on the amount.
