One of the biggest drawbacks of integrating technology for the interface between doctors and patients is the lack of in-person care. With Covid doctors and patients had to learn to adjust to fully online interactions, and this highlighted some issues. In-person visits can be invaluable because would for some check-ups it is better to be in person. For example, for online check-ups, patients need to measure their own blood pressure and a few other metrics. In my personal experience, I was not the best at keeping up with measuring my blood pressure and thus was not able to provide my doctor with all the necessary information.
