One of the critiques of Islamic Finance states that Islamic Finance does not differentiate between Consumption (Non-commercial) and Commercial Interest. Critics say that loans and the Riba must be distinguished between commercial and non-commercial loans because during the time of the Prophet (SAAW) commercial interest and banking institutes were not exist and hence were not forbidden.

1. Islam has forbidden the non-commercial Riba only as it leads to injustice.
2. The non-commercial loan was ONLY existing in the time of the Prophet (SAAW).
3. Banks were non-existing at that time.
4. By the definition, Riba is ONLY forbidden if it creates an unjust burden on the poor consumers. For a big profitable and lucrative business, it can be allowed.
5. Conventional bankers argue that the Riba has not been clearly defined in Quran, therefore it cannot be exactly defined and applied in banking transactions and can be termed permissible. Appraise this statement with reference to Quran.
