One of the individual differences you learned about in the lecture this week was generational differences. This is a hot topic that you will see mentioned on social media and mainstream media alike. For instance, you have probably noticed that referring to someone as a "boomer" or "millennial" comes with many connotations.

In your initial discussion post this week, please address the following prompts:

• Find a scholarly source (outside of the link shared in the lecture) that highlights some of the main differences between generations in the United States today. These differences could be related to attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, knowledge, etc.
  • Share a link or PDF of the source that you find.
  • summarize the main points of the source you found.
• Explain why you believe generational differences are so emotionally charged.
  • For instance, why do you think people take offense when generational trends or differences are noted? Why do you think differences between generations have spurred as many jokes, memes, hashtags, etc. as they have?
• Given the emotional nature of this topic, make a list of tips you think an employer could utilize to better understand the differences between generations without behaving in a way that is prejudiced, stereotypical, or discriminatory.
