One purpose of project evaluation of a project is to:

a.Conducta Comparative analysis, both fromthe points of view of physical and financial performance, of similar projectsunder implementation.

b.provides timely feedback and acts as an early warningsystem for identification of areas of both internal and external problems.

c.Measure the variances between the costs incurred and theoriginal estimate of costs (cost variance), the costs of work performed and thecosts of work scheduled (schedule variance), quality of work and technicalspecifications for the project;

d.Evaluatethe outcome or the analysis of impacton target groups in terms of achievement of social end economic goals of theproject.
