Due Thursday
Readthe scenario:
- Scenario: You have just ended a session with a new client who was extremely resistant to your attempts to engage with them. Despite your best efforts, you aren't confident you will be able to engage the client any better at the next session, but this client will be on your caseload for at least a year. You end the workday feeling frustrated and a little defeated. You are beginning to realize that many aspects of the job are stressful, and work-life balance is not as easy to manage as you had originally thought. You decide it is time to step up your self-care plan.
Determine a proactive self-care strategy that is personalized to your life and accomplishes two objectives:
- Addresses self-care for the immediate stressor. (What self-care can you do immediately after a stressful day?)
- Address a long-range plan to integrate a self-care routine into your life. (What self-care can you put in place to ensure you can cope effectively with challenging clients throughout your career?)
