One type of team that is very popular is the Quality-Improvement team. This team will usually have a longer life and may be ongoing for several years. We assemble some various people in the process of production to see where improvements can be made. In this case many of the team members are the production workers who touch/assemble the product every day. In many cases they find that improvements to production process will improve the defect-rates.
