For the cork sphere illustrated in the figure below, use the bisection method to determine the height h of the portion above the water. Use the following values for your calculation: r=1m, density of the sphere e=200kg/m3 and density of water a=1000kg/m3. Notice that the volume of the portion of the sphere above the water can be found by 1 V=3h2(3rh) To be in equilibrium, the buoyant force (which depends on h ) must be equal to the total weight of the sphere.
