Opinion on the following cases below, is the defendant guilty or not?

Was this defendant insane? The term insanity in the criminal justice system is when a person has a committed a horrendous crime and is trying to plead that they are insane. A case found on the internet is State V Sowell. In this case, Anthony Sowell is accused of killing 11 women and keeping their decomposed bodies in his home. A grand jury returned an 85-count indictment against Sowell. Sowell clearly had the intentions of killing these women and nothing he did proved that he was insane. The Cuyahoga County prosecutor claimed that there was no real evidence to declare Sowell insane. This just show that in this case, Sowell tried to use insanity as an excuse to get out of being caught. This man probably has mental issues, but not enough to justify what he has done.

Was the defendant suffering from schizophrenia? In the case of Clark v Az, Clark claimed he committed the crime of murder under diminished capacity meaning he was not in his right mind when he shot the officer. Eric Clark made statements that he wanted to lure an officer to kill him. At the time of the insolent, Eric believed his twin was being taken over by aliens and probably thought the officer was one of them. Eric drove around his neighborhood, playing loud music's to do exactly what he set out to do. Police were called and they pulled Eric over in the university heights neighborhood. The officer notified dispatch that he was out with the subject and one minute later he was calling for assistance. Eric left the scene and hid from officers for 16 hours. When Eric was found he was arrested. While ion jail he stopped eating and began to portray a psychological deficiency. He claimed he was not in his right mind when he pulled the trigger. Eric, during his trial was found incompetent to stand trial. He was sent to the state hospital where after two years he was found competent to stand trial. The defendant claimed he was suffering from schizophrenia and did not know what he was doing. The prosecution was able to show Eric was in his right mind and knew what he was doing.
