Opinion on this.
Jeffery Sachs has helped governments in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa with economic changes. Sachs has been an active voice in finding effective ways to end poverty and his advocacy with international organizations to help developing countries reduce poverty, sickness, and debt. He is against charging for services and products that are used to aid individuals in poverty. Sachs believed social marketing has failed to provide realistic solutions to help those in need. He asserts that poor individuals often can pay little or nothing at all. I do think it is immoral to charge poor individuals for services and products. Individuals in poverty often do not have the money or access to basic needs such as food, shelter, and healthcare. It is essential to consider how these individuals will maintain their cost of living and take care of themselves. However, I think that poorer countries will create innovative services and aid programs that save lives and promote development with the advancements of technology, cost management, and knowledge.
