Plagiarism is very noticeable and easy to detect. Students caught plagiarizing will receive a grade of zero on the assignment and will be reported for academic misconduet. When you are using someone else's ideas you must reference them using APA style referencing. That is, you must reference ideas from the text and ideas from outside sources using APA style referencing. Because you are only using the course textbook and lecture notes from this course, this is the material you should be referencing. No assessments submitted after the last day of class will be accepted/evaluated INSTRUCTIONS For this assignment you are required to write a 500-800-word reflection on ONE of the scenarios mentioned below numbered 1 through 4. It may help you to look at the opinion/editorial section of a newspaper to get a sense of the writing style. It is an opinion piece and, thus, must contain an argument. This is not a group assignment; each student should submit to me a copy of their opinion paper by uploading itto the appropriate link. You will be required to take a strong and clear pesition on your topic of choice. Although it is an opinion piece, you are required to use the course materials to support your opinion. This is an individual assignment to be completed with the course material alone, failure to use the course material in your paper will result in a lower or failing grade. Do not use any outside sources for this assignment. An understanding and appiication of the Oakes fest is necessary for each of the topics. In your paper, be sure to discuss each of the following a) the right at issue; b) the reason why that right is important; c) how the court decided it; here you should discuss a case similar to the scenarioplease refer to the course material and course textbook to find similar cases, and discuss how the court decided it d) your evaluation of the court's reasoning using the Oakes Test (in other words: why is it a good decision?) Be sure to incorporate what you have learned from the cases discussed in the course thus far, or the cases we are going to discuss. To find similar cases you are required to use material from this course. Material/court cases used from outside sources in other words, not from the course content will not be graded and will result in a failing grade. Since it is an opinion piece, the bulk of your time and writing should focus on your evaluation of the court's reasoning. Would this violate our equality rights under the Charter? If so, could such a violation nevertheless pass the Oakes test? Remember to explain by incorporating the four criteria listed above 2 Jehovah''s Witnesses are forced by the government to have their child undergo a life-saving blood transfusion that is against their religion. Parents have appealed the Supreme Court. In your opinion, how should the courts decide such acase? 3.John Buckham, a student at Georgian College, was recently charged for public mischief and uttering a death threat for writing the following on a class blackboard: \"Die all women, kill all women.\" The student also referred to women as \"whores " His lawyer argued that his freedom of speech rights had been violated, but he was convicted. Did the courts make the right decision? 4 Currently, the law requires that stores be closed on Sunday. Imagine that both a Muslim and Jewish organization united to challenge the law on the grounds that their freedom of religion is being violated.
