When you are using someone else's ideas you must reference them using APA style referencing. That is, you must reference ideas from the text and ideas from outside sources using APA style referencing. Because you are only using the course textbook and lecture notes from this course, this is the material you should be referencing. Late Assessment Policy is as follows: Any assessment submitted past the due date will be penalized at 5% per day for a maximum of 10 days (including weekends), after which a maximum grade of 50% will be possible if the assessment meets the requirements of the assignment Feedback on late assignments is at the discretion of the faculty. No assessments submitted after the last day of class will be accepted/evaluated INSTRUCTIONS For this assignment you are required to write a 500-800-word reflection on ONE of the scenarios mentioned below numbered 1 through 4. It may help you to look at the opinion/editorial section of a newspaper to get a sense of the writing style. It is an opinion piece and, thus, must contain an argument. This is not a group assignment; each student should submit to me a copy of their opinion paper by uploading itto the appropriate link. You will be required to take a strong and clear pesition on your topic of choice. Although it is an opinion piece, you are required to use the course materials to support your opinion. This is an individual assignment to be completed with the course material alone, failure to use the course material in your paper will result in a lower or failing grade. Do not use any outside sources for this assignment. An understanding and appiication of the Oakes fest is necessary for each of the topics. In your paper, be sure to discuss each of the following a) the right at issue; b) the reason why that right is important; c) how the court decided it; here you should discuss a case similar to the scenarioplease refer to the course material and course textbook to find similar cases, and discuss how the court decided it d) your evaluation of the court's reasoning using the Oakes Test (in other words: why is it a good decision?) Be sure to incorporate what you have learned from the cases discussed in the course thus far, or the cases we are going to discuss. To find similar cases you are required to use material from this course. Material/court cases used from outside sources in other words, not from the course content will not be graded and will result in a failing grade. Since it is an opinion piece, the bulk of your time and writing should focus on your evaluation of the court's reasoning.
