Organizing Scenario: A home owner, Bjorn Bjornson, approaches your company, We Can Build Anything, LLC regarding a construction project. The Mr. Bjornson tells the company owner, Dan DeMan, that the tornado that came through the area last week destroyed the patio on the back of the homeowner's home. The homeowner has planned a huge soiree for next weekend at his home. It's a work-related cook-out (so it's super important to the homeowner) that the homeowner has planned with lots of people coming, so the homeowner needs to get his wooden patio deck re-built as soon as possible, or at least in time for the soiree. As it is a Monday now, the party will occur in two Saturdays. Mr. DeMan tells your boss, Kimberly Kardashian, that he's accepted the job to rebuild the homeowner's deck in time for the long-planned deck party. Kimberly tells your crew that they will do the patio re-build job. 1) Provide an organization chart your company. 2) Organize a work crew (hypothetical) to get this job completed. 3) State who is in authority in the work crew and who in your crew is going to do what on your work crew (work specialization and worker responsibility). 4) Identify all positions in your work crew. At least two positions are of authority in your work crew. Know also that at least two members of your work crew are apprentices learning the construction trade. Address how authority is delegated through line, staff or functional authority in your work crew. 5) Provide wage rates for any masons, carpenters, electricians, labors, excavators, and so forth required to do this job.
