Our case study site is the Fair Oaks Mall, located at 11750 Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax, VA 22033. The mall is in the early stages of a "10-15 year" process to add new uses and density to its existing 1.7m sf. The Fair Oaks Mall falls firmly in the middle of the spectrum of mall redevelopments - by no means a "dead" mall in need of immediate transformation but not a premium, top-tier mall either. The site, its submarket and the broader metro market provide many interesting possibilities that you will analyze throughout the course
