Our chapter this week mainly focuses on and speaks about taxes. Our government now still applies to this law. Back in the 1700's the government applied taxes based on the stamp act, sugar act, and on many different printed variables. They used this as an income sourse to help pay off debt after the French and Indian War. Although this upset many colonist they all were charged and had no voice within these decisions. Even now, not everyone agrees on taxes. Anything that is bought is now taxed. The amount of money that is charged on objects varies and sometimes it increases at an unexpected times. However, now they are applied on more materials rather than how they were before. During the previous years, inflation has ridiculously increased the prices on everything. An example of a major factor with a rising price would be gas. As prices continue to rise our government is benefiting from it. This all began during the pandemic when people were greatly affected, businesses weren't making enough money and many people were left jobless.
