Our class has been assigned to set up a collective bargaining session between a corporate company and the union. Each of us have been assigned different roles like union representative, union president etc. Pre-bargaining report including our bargaining proposals is the first thing needed to a collective bargaining. My role is of a local union vice president.

Key Article for Negotiation & Rationale:

ARTICLE 27 - PAYMENT OF WAGES 27.01 Payment of wages shall be made weekly by direct deposit during working hours on Thursdays. The day shift shall be paid prior to the last break period. The midnight shift shall be paid before the end of the shift and the afternoon shift shall be paid before lunch.

27.02 All legitimate pay cheque shortages shall be paid on Friday for shortages payable on that week's pay, providing such shortages are due to the Company's error.

27.03 The above is conditional on the proper signing officers availability

on Friday.

27.04 An employee who is upgraded shall have his/her wages adjusted

on the date of such assignment.

27.5 Cheque stubs will contain year to date wages and deductions. Fall Back Position: You must include a section in your report setting out your fall back position on the bargaining issues if you don't achieve the exact proposal you are looking for: i.e. what alternative language / money can you live with? Think of creative alternatives to achieve your bargaining goals.

THE GIVEN ROLE IS-

VICE-PRESIDENT OF LOCAL UNION As the Vice-President, you were recently subordinated by being defeated by the Local President in the election. You have a fair bit of animosity towards the Local President as you wanted the President's job but decided to accept the position of Vice-President instead. Secretly, you would like to see the Local President fail in this round of negotiations in order to allow you to become President at the next election in two years. From your perspective, the membership's demands for an 8% wage increase over 3 years as a bare minimum is unreasonable given the economic circumstances. You think that Local President's desire to bargain tough with the management is simply a personal attempt to make himself look good and is not in the best interests of the membership. You feel the Local President has an ego which is going to get in the way of the bargaining negotiations.

Please explain how i can a report describing the role using the article, changes for negotiations and rationale for doing so
